194. Tickets & Schedule For The 2026 Walker Cup Match

Tickets for the 51st Walker Cup Match on 5th-6th September 2026, which is to be played for the first time at Lahinch G.C. in County Clare, Ireland, have gone on sale today.

Weekend Passes will cost €80 while Single Day tickets will cost €45 each.

All children under-16 years old will be given free entry if accompanied by a paying adult. Discounted youth tickets are also available for 16-24 year olds.

An early bird offer, applying only to the first 500 tickets sold, of €70 for the Weekend Pass and €40 for either the Saturday or Sunday was fully taken up within hours of the site going live.

The match schedule was also outlined by The R&A: –

Friday 4th September – Practice Day

8.00am: AM Team Practice
1.30pm: PM Team Practice
5.00pm: Opening Ceremony

Saturday 5th September – Match Day 1

8.00am: Four foursome matches
1:45pm: Eight singles matches

Sunday 6th September – Match Day 2

8.00am: Four foursome matches
1:30pm: Ten singles matches
7.00pm: Closing Ceremony

The USGA has announced that ticketing for the 50th Walker Cup Match, which is to be played on 5th-7th September 2025, will be limited and as a result expensive.

The coastal terrain and attractiveness of Cypress Point Club, coupled with the limited amount of competitive play on course at any one time, means that daily attendances will be “capped to an appropriate and manageable number.”

It has been rumoured that the number of tickets released may be as low as 3,000 / day.

The USGA said “to equitably address the demand for tickets and ensure fair distribution, all single day public tickets will be sold in advance through a random selection process, after receipt of an online application which will be made available in the spring.”

It will clearly be very difficult to attend the whole match and as a result it is hard to see many GB&I supporters making the effort to travel to California.

The ticket prices, which are before any applicable taxes and fees, and match schedule were also released: –

Friday 5th September – Practice Day – $100 / ticket

8am: Official Team Practice Rounds
5pm: Flag-Raising Ceremony

Saturday 6th September – Match Day 1 – $200 / ticket

8am: Four foursome matches
1:45pm: Eight singles matches

Sunday 7th September – Match Day 2 – $200 / ticket

8am: Four foursome matches
1:30pm: Ten singles matches
7pm: Closing Ceremony

Each adult applicant will have the option to apply for one complimentary junior (17 years old and under) ticket per day, which will also be determined via random selection.

The R&A has announced that tickets for the 49th Walker Cup match being played on the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland on 2nd-3rd September 2023 will go on sale in April.

The R&A website now invites spectators to register their interest to be pre-advised of the sale date and to qualify for early bird offers / discounts.

96. Tickets Go On Sale For Royal Liverpool 2019

3rd December 2018

Tickets have today gone on sale for the 47th Walker Cup match which will be played at Royal Liverpool G.C. on the weekend of 7th – 8th September 2019.

Day tickets will cost £25.00 for adults and £15.00 for youths (16-24).

A weekend pass will cost £40.00 for adults and £20.00 for youths.

Under 16’s will be granted free access on both days as long as they are accompanied by a youth or adult.

It appears that entry will be free on the practice days and for the opening ceremony on the Friday afternoon.

With 278 days to go until the match starts Great Britain and Ireland’s (GB&I) selection options were further reduced last week with the news that both Mitch WAITE (ENG) and Nick POPPLETON (ENG) had decided to turn professional.

Both Waite and Poppleton played for GB&I in the St. Andrews Trophy match against Europe last July. At the time of the announcement Waite was also GB&I’s highest rated player in the Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking.

Of the nine man team and two reserves selected for the St. Andrews Trophy just four remain amateur heading into 2019; David HAGUE (ENG), John MURPHY (IRE), Conor PURCELL (IRE) and Euan WALKER (SCO).
